I don’t call myself a globetrotter, but I do consider myself pretty well-traveled. I can confidently say few places have captured my attention and heart as swiftly and securely as the Valle de Cauca region of Colombia.

Over a week I explored the cloud forest, tropical rainforest, and the Cauca River Valley marsh + lagoon – all spanning roughly 5,000′ changes in elevation.

The diversity in environments creates the perfect place to house a mind-blowing number of flora and fauna species. From the tiny tyrannulets to the large toucans, it seemed there was a new bird or plant in every space.

It will take me some time to sort through my 10k(ish) photos, but here are some of my favorites! Or at least, the best photo I was able to capture of a neat bird, ha.

Eventually I’ll have them all identified and whatnot…but for now, enjoy some pretty birds (and a reptile).
